In 2010, the initial idea of producing and farming Penaeus vannamei shrimp with the aim of supplying the Western European market led the company’s current shareholders to undertake extensive market research and research into shrimp farming and production.
In 2013, the first contacts were established with some of the largest hypermarket chains in France, Germany, and Spain. In 2015, following the company’s official incorporation, we became one of the first and largest French companies to engage in the farming and harvesting, processing, and importation of Penaeus vannamei shrimp from our own farms located in the FAO 51 region, within the Indian Ocean, Gulf of Oman, and Persian Gulf area.
Between 2016 and 2018, our company became the largest importer of shrimp from this region into Western Europe. A wide range of processed shrimp products, marketed under the Persiana Shrimp brand, was introduced to the markets of France, Belgium, and Germany.
In 2018 and 2019, our company in France began conducting research on a new shrimp species with greater tolerance to cold water and lower temperatures.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, our company, in partnership with a French farm, launched the first small-scale farm for the cultivation of Penaeus japonicus shrimp in the Charente-Maritime region of western France, with a particular emphasis on organic farming practices.
Alongside its shrimp farming and research activities, in 2020 our company became the first exporter of shrimp larvae from France to Central Asia. In cooperation with the Chabahar Far Waters Technical and Research Center, the company successfully reproduced Penaeus japonicus shrimp larvae for the first time in a dedicated hatchery located in the Gulf of Oman.
In addition to our specialized work with various shrimp species, our company has also been active since 2015 in the farming and import of Beluga, Sevruga, and Ossetra caviar, sourced from farms located along the Caspian Sea coast.
Every year in September, the finest sturgeon are carefully selected and transferred to quarantine facilities for caviar harvesting. The caviar is then harvested in October and traditionally processed and packaged without the use of industrial preservatives.
Finally, after obtaining the required CITES permits in France, as well as the necessary veterinary certification for distribution within Europe, the caviar is imported into the European market.
